Beli
The first time I heard about him was when someone called to report an injured dog lying by the side of the road, unable to get up. White as snow, emaciated, looking down at the ground, sad. We knew we had to act quickly and so, with no money, no foster, no transport, we set off to save him. We asked people for help and went step by step. People responded to our pleas and fortunately the injuries were not serious, but he needed to be somewhere safe and rest. And now comes the part of the story that is ours and his troubles, and every time we thought that luck was smiling on him, it was the complete opposite. A girl called for a temporary home, at first everything seemed fine, and then we found out that she was keeping him in the attic, tied up to keep him from falling off the unfenced terrace, we were horrified, we took him and took him to another temporary place where he could only stay for a week. I remember how happy we were when someone wanted to adopt him, they seemed like a normal, ordinary family and we knew we had to make a quick decision or he would end up on the street again. And again, everything was fine at first, and then we were told that he was tied up in the yard, and for the third time we went to rescue him. We entered the yard and he was overjoyed to see us, the closer I got to him the faster the tears flowed down my face, the shock, anger and sadness of seeing him tied up with wire in the pen, all that was left of him was bones and a goat, as I carried him in my arms to the car and laid him down on a soft blanket I promised him that his suffering was over. His next temporary home was a boarding house where he was loved, had regular meals and friends. By then he had an army of people behind him, determined to make his next home perfect and forever! And we succeeded, he managed to withstand all the bad things that had happened to him since he was born! Nothing could ever break his positive spirit. Beli has been in his beautiful home for a few years now, enjoying long walks with his family, trips, naps on their laps, sleeping on a comfortable bed and arms that hug, caress and love him. We have tears of joy every time we see how much he is loved and happy. Long live Beli, we have fought and won!
