LEPA
Date of birth: 09.2023

Character: She has suffered deep trauma and is now afraid of people and distrustful of them. She is antisocial but not aggressive.
She is considerate towards other dogs and avoids them.
Story: We rescued Lepa from the city shelter, as she was in terrible condition — she was too thin and terrified. She had been living in a hole in the ground in the cemetery, where she fed and warmed her children. In November 2024, we moved her children from the cemetery to a shelter. We promised her that we would come back for her. But she disappeared.
She ended up back in the city asylum. A volunteer from our association went to collect her while she was sitting in a corner waiting for the day she would die. She was terrified and too thin. We reunited her with her children in a boarding house, and she now faces a long physical and mental recovery. Thanks to regular, high-quality nutrition, she has improved and gained weight, but she is still traumatised by people. We can't even begin to imagine what she went through. But time is on her side. She is getting better; she no longer trembles at human touch and makes eye contact. She showed us that she can almost bark, which indicates that she is becoming more relaxed. Let's move on, Lepa.
